About this piece
Most cutlery sets fail one of two tests: they look good but feel cheap, or they feel solid but look exactly like every other set in every other kitchen.
This is neither. The hanging-hook handle is what sets it apart visually designed so you can store the set on a kitchen rail or magnetic strip instead of buried in a drawer. Walk into a kitchen with these on display and the cutlery becomes part of the décor, not just utility hidden away.
Why hang cutlery instead of drawer-storing it
Three reasons:
- Drawer space is precious in small kitchens. Wall storage frees a drawer for actual mess.
- Air-drying is faster than tea-towelling. Hang the wet cutlery after washing, walk away, dry by morning.
- It looks intentional. A row of mirror-polished steel on a kitchen wall reads as design choice, not afterthought.
The hooked tail at the handle base is sized to fit standard 6mm kitchen rails (the kind you mount under shelves to hang utensils). Also fits magnetic kitchen strips and bespoke wall racks.
What’s in the box
- 4× dinner knife (22cm)

- 4× dinner spoon (20cm)
- 4× dessert spoon (17cm)
- Branded LuxuryTrex gift box (no extra wrapping needed)
The grade matters
18/10 stainless steel is the spec to look for in cutlery: 18% chromium for corrosion resistance, 10% nickel for the polished finish that holds up under repeated dishwashing.
The cheaper alternative is 18/0 (no nickel); it rusts at the tang where the handle meets the blade, and the polish dulls within months. Easy to spot in cheap sets: hold it under a magnet, 18/0 is strongly magnetic, 18/10 is barely magnetic.
This set is full 18/10. Use it daily, dishwash daily, it will outlast the kitchen it lives in.
Best for
- Wedding gift — substantial enough to feel like a real present, distinctive enough to be remembered
- Housewarming gift pairs well with a wall rail for kitchens being newly fitted
- Foodie friend: they already have the chef knives, this rounds out the table
- Replacing IKEA or supermarket cutlery; once you eat off proper steel you don’t go back
Care: dishwasher top rack, no harsh abrasives. To restore mirror finish after long use, polish with a tiny amount of bicarbonate of soda on a damp microfibre cloth.
Questions answered
Is this real stainless steel or plated? +
Solid 18/10 stainless steel throughout — 18% chromium, 10% nickel. The mirror polish is the natural finish of the metal, not a plated coating, so it will not chip, peel, or wear off.
Can it go in the dishwasher? +
Yes: top rack recommended for the polished finish. The 18/10 grade is fully dishwasher-safe; lower grades (18/0) are the ones that rust over time.
How does the hanging hook work? +
Each piece has a small hooked tail at the base of the handle. Designed to hang from a kitchen rail, magnetic strip, or cutlery wall rack. Doubles as a feature display when not in use.
Is it heavy enough for proper dinner use? +
Yes, 90g per fork, 95g per knife. Comparable weight to mid-tier hotel cutlery (vs the floppy 40g supermarket sets). It feels substantial in hand without being excessive.
Does it tarnish over time? +
18/10 stainless does not tarnish under normal use. If you see spots after dishwasher cycles, that's water mineral deposit, wipe with a microfibre cloth and a drop of white vinegar to restore the mirror finish.
Is this a good wedding or housewarming gift? +
Yes; comes in a branded gift box (no extra wrapping needed). The hanging-hook design is the conversation starter that prevents it being just-another-cutlery-set, which is the failure mode of most kitchen gifts.
How many people does the 16-piece set serve? +
4 place settings (knife + fork + spoon + dessert spoon × 4). For larger households, two sets give you 8 settings cleanly.
